‘Taking on the Big Boys’ From easyJet to easyHotel to easy ..Tours?

easyGroup launch easyGuide – London tours and activities booking site.

easyGuide – tours and activities bookings from the easyGroup.

Air Asia now offering bookable experiences and activities on their website.

Tony Fernandes, the CEO of Air Asia recently boasted that his airline could potentially out muscle Hong Kong-based OTA giants Klook.

Since that bullish statement we have seen activities appear on the Air Asia website and now easyGroup the corporation behind easyJet and easyHotel are making a move on the lucrative London tours and experiences business with easyGuide.

Whether easyGuide tours and experiences will be bookable on easyJet is yet to be seen.

easyGuide CEO Blake Anthony tells us more.

easyGuide CEO Blake Anthony Reddy with easyGroup owner Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou.

easyGuide CEO Blake Anthony Reddy told Tourpreneur ‘We are launching in London with over 200 exciting activities and experiences which will be tailored to tourists and locals alike. With a mixture of direct relationships with suppliers and intermediaries, we aim to expand across other cities in Europe over the course of 2019. ‘

‘Taking on the Big Boys’

easyGroup is living up to their ‘take on the big boys‘ brand value by entering the ultra-competitive London tours and activities marketplace. It will be a tough challenge to win market share from the big OTAs though easyGroup companies have a reputation for fighting hard. Pass me the popcorn this could get interesting if easyGroup gives easyGuide support and cash.

The easyJet site currently offers hotels via a strategic affiliate deal with Booking. Car Hire via Europcar and easyJet Holidays via Hotelopia (Hotelbeds). No sign of easyHotel getting preferential treatment so who knows if easyGuide will appear on the low cost airline website.

Tourpreneur will bring you more news as we get it.

“There are some great OTAs out there, but consumers don’t currently recognise one name as the go to place to book tickets.

We believe the easy brand will help us stand out in a growing market and we aim to be that brand which consumers think of when looking to book activities.”
